Rifle Ranges
Oakdale Gun Club features 25-, 50-, 100-, and 200-yard rifle ranges.
We permit all slug-firing shotguns (smoothbore or rifled) and all
modern rifles up to and including .50 BMG on our ranges.
All ranges feature covered, weather-protected shooting stations,
rock-solid shooting benches, sandbags if you want them,
and plenty of room to set up your rifle and spotting scope.
Daily Range Pass: $15
Oakdale Gun Club uses a system similar to a ski-lift ticket.
During public hours, each shooter
must check in at the Clubhouse and
purchase a daily range pass. Once you have a range pass, you may use any
open and supervised range on the club grounds. You may even leave the
club grounds (say, to get lunch) and return later the same day.
All shooters are required to have hearing and eye protection.
If you do not have hearing protection or shooting glasses, foam earplugs
and inexpensive shooting glasses
are available in the Clubhouse, along with pop, snacks, extra targets, and
ammunition in most popular calibers.
Shooters under the age of 18 must show their DNR Firearms Safety
Certificates before they can purchase a range pass.
A little more information:
The Competition Range features both 25- and 50-yard target stands. If you
want to shoot a centerfire rifle or slug-firing shotgun at 25 yards, please use
the Competition Range.
The 25-yard Range is at this time restricted to rimfire and conventional
pistol-caliber firearms only, because of problems with the backstop material.
The 50-, 100-, and 200-yard Ranges are open for unrestricted use.
Oakdale Gun Club charges by the shooter, not by the hour, the range used, or by the
number of guns. Each shooter must purchase and wear a range pass.
A "shooter" is any person who plans to shoot a gun.
